Yesterday I got a call from a buddy of mine who moved down here to Georgia last year from one of those states up there above the Mason Dixon line. “Hey Phil!” he says. “How’d you like to ride with me and Vann to Deal’s Gap Saturday morning?”

I’ve discovered geocaching. I know, I know, it’s a little odd, but it appeals to me to go off with my GPS looking for treasures in hidden places. The ‘little boy’ in me I guess.

I’ll reveal more grisly details later, but I just wanted to note that I DID indeed complete the Iron Butt rides (SaddleSore 1000 and the BunBurner 1500) as planned, and just arrived home this afternoon around 4:15. A good two hours ahead of the time deadline!

Ran down to the hardware store to pick up the necessary bolts and washer and nuts to make this bracket and attach it. Finally finished all the screwing, drilling, measuring, cutting, bending and cussing. Yahoo! It fits. No more little annoying rumble from beneath me as I ride along.
