I just can’t describe how nice it is to get an unexpected “snow day” off on a Friday, for a LONG weekend.

On the way home yesterday I stopped off at the store to pickup my supply of milk and bread for the “snow in”….Well, actually I already had bread, so more importantly I picked up some additional coffee. I ground and brewed a pot this morning and I have to tell you, the Dunkin Donuts coffee beans are just as delightful as the freshly brewed stuff at the donut shop.

The beans are lighter in color than others I’ve used, like Folgers and Eight O’Clock brands. And they grind to that same light brown color. But the taste is smooth and pleasant, unlike some very strong “ammonia like” flavors sampled among some lesser known brands.

I made me a great eggs, bacon, english muffin and grits breakfast at about noon, after I got up for the 3rd time at about 11 and showered good. The snow has stuck…most likely due to the unbearably low temps persisting despite the sunshine.
