Beakster Bash 2007 in Marlinton, WV-A few guys get together every year to socialize and ride around on the bikes. It all started 4 years ago as we discussed an actual meeting of the members of the R1150R.NET Forum on the internet. This was our latest soire’.
The BMW Riders Association Rally 2007- This was a major national event held this year at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. My lovely wife endured and rode up there with me spending three wonderful, but hot, days enjoying the Biltmore and some of the roads in that area, including the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The U.S. Hwy 17 Through Georgia Ride of 2007-After reading an article in the Georgia Backroads magazine about this road, I wanted to do a ride myself on the bike. I picked a couple of hot days but it did happen and I’m glad I did it. There’s a lot of history on those old U.S. highways across our land.
The Destin Getaway of February 2007- Last February I grabbed a couple nights’ stay at a small motel near the beach in Destin, Florida and took Jenny to enjoy the beach for a couple of days. What fun!
Visit to Virginia Beach June 2007-When I got out of school this past June, I took a ride up to visit my daughter and the two grandchildren. I was only there for a couple of days but we were able to do a lot in that short time. Very enjoyable to be with the kiddos.
My Visit to South Alabama to see my Dad-and Tab Turberville- I left on Tuesday this past week and returned on Friday, getting to shell and eat some good ole south Alabama peas along with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. I went with Pop up to the Senior center for lunch on Wednesday and rode out to Tab Turberville’s place to see his spread. What a treat!
The Annual Hungry Mother State Park, Virginia ride. A group of riding pals get together every year up at the Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia and camp for the weekend and ride around.
My Pilgrimage to Iowa in September 2007 I rode 2,017 miles in four days to see some things I’ve wanted to see for a really long time. It was well worth it. Take a look.
Jenny and I went to Ozark Arkansas last weekend Jenny fell over in a ditch and hurt her leg, but we still had fun! Lots of good pics.
Two Day Adventure Ride to Middle Georgia. Last weekend our Georgia BMW club made an overnight camp at Little Ocmulgee State Park and rode around visiting sights for two day. Here’s the slide show.
Early Spring Trip to Cedar Key, Florida February, 2008. At the end of my week off Jenny and I drove down to Cedar Key to lay about and relax and enjoy some seafood. The little slideshow shows it better than I can tell about it.
Early Summer Campout at Tallulah River, Georgia, 2008. We both found we had time off at the same time so we took a few days and headed for the mountains to camp out along the beautiful Tallulah River up near Clayton, GA. It was such a nice cool respite from the hot summer lowlands.
BMW Motorcycle Owners of America 2008 Rally at Gillette, Wyoming. I departed Sunday morning July 13th and took 4 days to ride out, camping along the way. I also took 4 days to get back but took few pictures on the return trip.
Hungry Mother Rain Ride of 2008. Our little group did it again. This time I took a guest along from Georgia and one new fellow came from Pennsylvania. This basically a core group of riders from VA, NC, GA, OH and now PA. It was wonderful! Here’s the slide show, so turn up the speakers, sit back and enjoy the almost 7 minutes of it!
Pewee Valley Kentucky Ride of 2008. My goal was to ride and visit Pewee Valley Kentucky. The fact that we never found what we were looking for didn’t make the trip any less enjoyable! Enjoy the Kentucky landscape and the Kentucky bourbon tour in this slideshow.
Eureka Springs, Arkansas Fall Beakster Bash 2008. I decided at the last minute I was able to go even though I was down with a cold. I was only there for Friday night, Saturday and Sat. night. Here are a collection of pictures taken by several attendees…in my slide format, and my attempt at a humorous show.
Amicalola Falls State Park Picnic. Just a short little slideshow of Jenny and I picnicking at the state park. There are no shots of us per se, but we really did go there.
Cedar Key Redux 2009! Yes we returned to Cedar Key Florida last weekend for a fast 2 day getaway to the salty air, seafood, and laid back lifestyle, if it was only very short.
Virginia Beach, Easter 2009. I try to go and visit my daughter Julie and her family each year at my spring break. I missed it last year, but this time I made it, and my second daughter Wendy with her husband and two little girls also joined us for the weekend.
April ‘09 Club Ride to NorthEast Georgia. Danny Andrews led three of us on a spirited ride up through Tiger, Clayton and Hiawassee to take a look at the Georgia Mtn Rally site.
February ‘10 Club Ride to Cedar Key, Florida. Jenny and I went to Cedar Key the last 2 years together but this year we are not together…so I went with a few of my Georgia Club members, and we rode the bikes down. It was cool starting out, but got nice and warm down there on Saturday. Sunday was another beautiful ride home also. Enjoy the slideshow.
